MS Libas, new in March 2021, is a fishing vessel built for the future and a number of technical innovations have been used in the work with this boat.
Libas is 86 meters long and 18 meters at its widest.
The boat is equipped with a Duel Fuel engine and is currently the first and only fishing vessel in the world that runs on LNG gas / Biogas, in addition it can also use diesel. It is equipped with battery packs.
Libas are also equipped with electric winches that produce electricity when shooting wire and trawling. In addition, the boat has its own "hydropower plant" on board that produces electricity when the boat swings.
All these measures, and many more, mean that the vessel has reduced energy consumption, lower emissions, and reduced noise levels. It has already reached the government's climate target for 2030.
In 2018, Liba won the Innovation Award at Nor Fishing.
